Okay, this IS the first major letdown for me
By DixonHill

Why was Spock put on that planet by Nero? Because of its proximity to Vulcan. And where was the Enterprise leaving when they decided to kick Kirk off the ship? Then it's not a coincidence, is it? Their proximity to that moon is very much by the plot.

Delta Vega is no way a Vulcan moon or something from which you can see Vulcan imploding. I was hoping Spock observing the destruction was just a holographic projection of sorts. Now, alternate timeline considered, Delta Vega doesn't shift from a far-out world at the edge of the galaxy near the Galactic Barrier to a moon of one of the core worlds of the Federation, just because Nero killed Kirk's father and destroyed the Kelvin!

Why call it Delta Vega...they could have just called it the Vulcan ice moon Glaciera for what it's worth...
