According to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast of CSI in a potentially recurring role, a CBS rep confirmed.

Sackhoff will play Detective Reed, a smart investigator who doesn't do well with sensitivity. Her first episode is slated to air during November sweeps.

The 30-year-old actress most recently appeared as CTU mole Dana Walsh on 24 and will reprise her role as Wolowitz's conscience on The Big Bang Theory later this season.

CSI
returns Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c on CBS.

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. ” — Franklin D. Roosevelt, "Message from the President of the United States Transmitting Recommendations Relative to the Strengthening and Enforcement of Anti-trust Laws.”

Is it possible she's the replacement for Marg Helgenberger, whose character of Catherine Willows is leaving the show late this coming season?
