MTV posted a new video interview with Star Trek star Karl Urban in which he talks about his role as the new Judge Dredd and here are excerpts.

"I can say that the producers of this film are going to make a very gritty, hardcore, faithful adaptation of the comic," said Urban. "Mr. [John] Wagner, who created the character, and Jock, one of the key artists, have been on board as collaborators right from the beginning."

"I'm thrilled to bits about this opportunity," said Urban. "I've been reading 'Dredd' in one form or another for 25 years, so to be given the opportunity to portray such an enigmatic, iconic comic book character is one that I'm absolutely elated about."

The full interview is here.

Well, I used to read some Dredd and Dan Dare in the 1980s during my teens but to tell the truth I am not a big fan of british comics (but some of they are awesome, nevertheless)

I just hope the whole 47 of them will go watch that movie!
