MTV posted a new video interview with Star Trek star Zachary Quinto and True Blood actor Michael McMillian, in which they talk about the upcoming comic book Lucid, which is written by McMillian, and published by Archaia Entertainment and Quinto's media house Before The Door Pictures. Here are excerpts of the interview.
"'Lucid' takes place in an alternate universe where major world powers have combat mages - magicians that are working for them as secret agents, fighting the good fight, protecting national security and also overseeing the more paranormal things that go on in the world," explained McMillian.
And while the story manages to blend equal parts magic, espionage, and action, Quinto said it was the historical reference points that first attracted him to the project.
"The interesting thing to me...is the lineage of Matthew Dee tracing back to John Dee, who is a historical figure," said Quinto of the comic's main character, combat magician Matthew Dee.
