TrekWeb talks to actor Kevin Sorbo about his upcoming science fiction movie Paradox, in which he plays a homicide detective named Sean Nault, a cop on a parallel Earth whose technology is powered exclusively by magic. Sean investigates a baffling series of murders committed by a means he's never seen before: the power of science. Interview by Gustavo Leao.
1- What was the most fun aspect of filming Paradox ?
Reuniting with some of my old crew mates from Andromeda. Always nice to go on a set and see familiar faces. The actors that were cast were exceptional as well. We had a lot of laughs with a loose, easy feel on the set.
2- Were you familiar with the Arcana comic book series before shooting the movie ?
I had certainly heard of the comic books, but not a reader of them. I read a lot of comic books as a kid, though. So I certainly understand the appeal.
3- How was working with director Brenton Spencer, know from his work on the hit TV Series Stargate Atlantis ?
Well, Brenton also directed me on Andromeda as well. he is a great guy on set with a very quick, wicked sense of humor. You have to be on your toes! He is also a very accomplished director of photography. The man knows his way around the set.
4- The FX in the trailer look fantastic. Was Paradox a difficult movie to shoot because of the FX ?
i have been lucky enough to have had a bit of experience working with fx teams and the whole green screen world. Not intimidating to me at all. It is fun because you get the chance to really explore and have fun with it. no rules....only your imagination can limit you!
5- Finally, what science fiction fans will find in Paradox ?
They will find two worlds, one they know, and one they have dreamt about. It is a fun and thrilling ride into that never answered question....is there a parallel world out there with another "me" living on it right now? Doing the same things I am doing right now.
Thank you, Kevin !
