MovieWeb posted a new interview with Star Trek actress Zoe Saldana (Uhura) and here are few excerpts.

The actress spoke about where she would like to see her character go in Star Trek XII, especially with the unique relationship between her, Spock and Kirk.

"Yeah, it's quite a love triangle," Saldana said. "I'm not really sure where that relationship will go in the sequel, but it will be fun to explore."

Saldana also spoke out about getting into some more of the action pieces in the sequel as well.

"It would be a lot of fun to have more of the physical element to the character in the new film. I'd love to se her kick some butt."

The full interview, in which she also talks about Avatar, is here.

Love Triangle? | Report this post to moderator

Why are they calling it a love triangle anyway? Spock and Uhura definitely have a relationship, but Kirk was pursuing Uhura, and Gaila, and just about every other female he saw. Kirk had a special interest in Uhura, but it seemed to be more because she was "hard to get" rather than love.

Well, when we see our first away team in the sequel, I don't doubt that she will be a part of it and will get to "kick some butt". Now that all the characters have been established, they will definately have more things to do.

[waits for the inevitable, "yeah, but Uhura was never an action star in the original series" responses]
