The Helena Chronicles Fan Series Season 2 Finale Released Today

Features

By GustavoLeao / 13:17, 15 November 2009 / General Star Trek

Star Trek The Helena Chronicles Season 2 finale episode "Leashed Thunder" is now in wide release. The episode continues the second season arc in which the U.S.S. Helena is pursued by Starfleet and other interests. The post-Nemesis fan series stars actress Sharon Savene as Captain Theresa Faisal of the U.S.S. Helena.

In this new episode, danger is closing in from all sides. The crew of the Helena races to find Corey Aster and uncover the conspiracy within Starfleet! But will it be soon enough to avoid a disaster of galactic proportions?

TrekWeb talks to Helena Chronicles producer Rob Caves about this latest adventure in an exclusive interview.

1 - Rob what surprises can you reveal about the Helena Chronicles seson finale 'Leashed Thunder' ?

Henglaar dies, Helena decides to marry Rockney, and Faisal has a baby with Dao... oops wrong show!

Some major things happen in this episode as it is both a season finale and a series finale of sorts.  However Helena will be integrating with Odyssey for season 3 and the movie.  More on that later, which in itself should probably give some clues as to where the plot is headed with this one.  It's a pretty wild ride.

2- What fans can look foward regarding the adventures of the USS Helena beyond Season 2 ?

With the two shows combining we'll definitely be able to play crossover more and have the plots intersect.  One character it turns out is pregnant, another one has been used badly, and the fate of yet another is literally in limbo.  We'll also be seeing some of the Operation Beta Shield cast join the party.  Our staff writer, Brian S. Matthews is getting things ready for us to film in January.

3- Will the Helena crew play a pivotal role in the upcoming movie ?

Helena will likely be at the center of the movie.  We'll also see story lines from Henglaar MD, Federation One and of course Hidden Frontier continued as we try to tie everything up.  And Henglaar MD and Federation One will continue on their own as audio dramas for the foreseeable future.  We'll be launching Frontier Guard in January, and whilst not set in the playground of Star Trek, it will have many of the same cast and crew.

The episode can be downloaded for free from their servers here.

Another really excellent Helena episode | Report this post to moderator

I hope I'm not the only one who downloaded and watched yet another really exciting and great HC episode. The makeup might have been slightly askew, but the story and acting et al was really first rate. The HC is so good that I'm disappointed it's going to merge with the other. It not only stands on its own, it could really continue to take up if given time. I would never have believed that it could be as good as it is if I hadn't given it a fair chance mid-way through its first season. At least it isn't just going away, but the story hasn't finished by a long ways either. It was exciting from start to finish.

Thanks again for the info re HC. I wonder how far the combining of HC and Odyssey will go - and whether the planned "movie" will end both the arc and the two series, which would be too bad, as they've evolved quite a bit in only good ways.
