SYNOPSIS

Battlestar Galatica: The Plan. The Cylons began as humanity's robot servants. They rebelled and evolved and now they look like us. Their plan is simple: destroy the race that enslaved them. But when their devastating attack leaves human survivors, the Cylons have to improvise.

Battlestar Galatica: The Plan
tells the story of two powerful Cylon leaders, working separately, and their determination to finish the task.

An inspired, visually stunning reimagining of the 1978 series of the same name, Battlestar Galactica captured the imaginations of a new generation of fans with its gritty realism, compelling storylines and commanding performances. The show garnered numerous awards, including two Emmys® and the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award and was recognized by the American Film Institute (AFI) as one of the most outstanding television programs of the year for two years running.

In March 2009, Battlestar Galactica's impassioned explorations of today's hot-button issues, including politics, terrorism, treatment of prisoners and religion, even inspired the United Nations to host a special panel to discuss the questions it has raised. The series is from Universal Cable Productions and is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.

Update: good news and bad news... | Report this post to moderator
By: BWilliams (Odo's file, contact, web site) @ 08:20:11 on Aug 20, 2009

David Lambert posted an update on "The Plan" earlier today at TVShowsonDVD.com.

The good news is that the unrated extended edition will not be 90 minutes long but in fact 111 minutes. That means even more BSG goodness to further the story and character development! This has been confirmed by Universal.

Now the bad news: "The Face of the Enemy" webisodes will NOT be included on the DVD or Blu-ray. So much for a level playing field. BSG fans just got screwed again.

No "Face of the Enemy" in sight, apparently. | Report this post to moderator

One thing that bothered a number of BSG fans was the lack of inclusion of "The Face of the Enemy", the ten-part webisode series with Grace Park and Alessandro Juliani, on the DVDs and Blu-rays of Season 4.5 and the "complete" series. I e-mailed Gord Lacey at TVShowsonDVD.com earlier this morning and posed that same question to him, and he said that he didn't have any news about "Face of the Enemy". Baesd on the above specs, it looks like we may not get this on the DVD and Blu-ray of "The Plan", either, which is a shame.

However, there is the possibility that with enough flak thrown their way, Universal may listen to the fans and include it as an unadvertised bonus feature on "The Plan". After all, when "Razor" came out on DVD, nobody expected the seven-part "Razor" backstory webisode miniseries with a younger William Adama (parts of which were excerpted throughout "Razor") to be included on the disc, which was quite a nice surprise. Likewise for the "Resistance" webisodes on Season 3. So you never know.

The thing to do is continue to let Universal know about including "Face of the Enemy" on the DVD and Blu-ray release. I just hope they don't screw the fans and make it a Best Buy-only incentive disc like the extremely hard-to-find "Making of 'Razor'" disc. That would bother me a lot.

Look for my review of "The Plan" on DVD and Blu-ray coming soon!
