Will Wheaton Says Star Trek Has Been Reborn, and it is Spectacular

Star Trek The Next Generation actor Wil Wheaton posted a very positive review of the new Star Trek movie at his blog and here are few excerpts.

Speaking both as a member of the Star Trek family, and as a fan of what we do, I can tell you that it is fucking incredible. As I said on Twitter: Star Trek has been reborn, and it is SPECTACULAR.

The story is such a perfect Star Trek story, the cast is pitch-perfect, the visuals are brilliant, and the sound design will blow your mind. I loved it so much, I wanted to watch it again RIGHT AWAY as soon as it ended, and I hope they do eleven movies with this cast and creative team.

The original report is here

... arguments are a coherent wholes. Not one liners.

Promotion = a lot of sucking up, PR... all same thing. No insult intended.

My point about promotion (if you prefer this word) is SIMPLE: it distorts general opinion in favour of something BEFORE seeing it. After all this is the WHOLE point of spending $150 million on promotion! (more than on making the movie) Do you agree? Yes or no?

THIS IS WHY I want to see the long term opinion on all of this after the excitment dies down and the facts come in.

I ALSO HATE PEOPEL TELLING ME WHAT IS IN MY HEAD IN DISAGREEMENT TO WHAT I SAY! It is stupid to do so and wrong. I KNOW better.

I have written about the new Abrams movie for just a short time. I have noticed I am being asked the same questions over and over again. Accordingly I have summarised the same questions I had to reply several times, in the interests of moving the discussion on from repetitions. Click on the "web site" link next to my name/handle. If I have not covered your particular point or argument, or if you think I am wrong, please feel free to question me about it.

Well clearly J.J. Abrams has his hand in Wesley Crusher's pocket too. ;-)

In all seriousness, I can't wait til I can get to the theater on Friday.
