Won't last long.... | Report this post to moderator

This incarnation won't last long, if the lukewarm responses from the few lingering fans here are any indication. When you have such a negative response to the few-and-far-between efforts to keep the franchise alive, they will give up soon, and then fandom will be happy. ST will be dead. And the "fans" will be the pallbearers.

Really, if the fans don't care any more, the show over.

From a design standpoint, I think that magazine looks ugly and cluttered. It looks like it was done by somebody who has Photoshop, but without any design experience. Perhaps the person who designs the cover of The Weekly World News is doing this as a freelance project.

What a terrible representation of Star Trek.

To me, truth is not some vague, foggy notion. Truth is real. And, at the same time, unreal. Fiction and fact and everything in between, plus some things I can't remember, all rolled into one big 'thing.' This is truth, to me.

Makes me wonder where the "Babylon 5" magazine is?

Just kidding.

I know exactly where it is... eBay! In lots of "five-fer-a-buck."

Seriously though, as much as I love "Star Trek" what else is their left to write about? How many more times do we need to read Nichelle Nichols recounting how MLK talked her into staying on TOS? After 40 plus years, all the interesting bits have been put in print ad nausium and I doubt this glossy mag is going to do a truly critical piece examining "Star Trek" and what went oh-so-wrong with the motion picture arm of the franchise or how "Voyager" and "Enterprise" went so far off course.

Unless this magazine is prepared to bring something new and bold to the table then I just honestly do not see the need.

Respectfully,

Von Bruno

Clearly, CBS won't give up. They won't put Star Trek on the shelf. Star Trek lives. Its positive and I hope people will buy the magazine. I don't live in North America. But maybe the important news will appear on Trekweb before you know it. ;-)

CBS, thank you and good luck with your future Star Trek projects. I consider this new magazine a sign of respect towards the product that is Star Trek.

Why not just copy the UK's? | Report this post to moderator

Strange Titan not just using the UK's existing mag in the American market, one producer coming up with 2 magazines on the same topic?

I wonder if this will be available via mail order subscription. I live in a small farming community I'd literally have to drive an hour and a half to the "Big City" to find a copy.
