Looks like they told SaveEnterprise to take the pictures down. Luckily the other link still works (for now)...
Wouldn't a 23rd century starship being sent to the 22nd century mess up the timeline - in mirror, mirror the enterprise was as we knew it - if the Defiant goes 100 years into the past then the enterprise from mirror, mirror should of been more advanced - and I can't imagine NX-01 defeating Archer in a more advanced starship, I mean this show is produced in Hollywood - that would just seem to be wrong - how could the potentially do more episodes if archer an co. die on the defiant... no matters I am just speculating - as well its odd how the mirror universe seems to have some kind of uncanny connection to the starship defiant - thats the second time now, first smiley builds his own, then they find another one there.
The attention to detail is amazing. This episode is looking more and more like a fanboys wet dream, and I mean that in a good way.
As someone stated below, this could open the way for TREK that takes place near the time of Kirk, either before (Pike era) or during.
I can't wait to see the uniforms, since they've been able to justify the techological look in relation to ENT as relates to our real time technology, it would appear that things are falling into place nicely. I hope Mayweather gets to sit at the controls of the advanced version of his little tugboat of a starship. There's so much I would like to see, but there probably isn't enough time, even in a two parter to do this.
Visually and thematically, this is going to be great. It just may turn out that B&B will be able to vindicate themselves, and coming from me that says a lot since I've bludgeoned them silly in the past in this forum.
Now, after looking at these pictures I must go and change my underwear...

Folks, I don't know about you, but that Bridge set still screams "future" even after almost 40 years! Seeing this set makes me think that, if done right (and well), a Star Trek series set during the original five-year mission would still work. Some of the sets are still dated, that's a given. But with today's SFX, the ability to use plasma (or LCD) monitors in the upper viewscreens, floor lighting such as indicated in the pictures (although maybe not as intense) and more practical lighting (like Battlestar Galactica), such a design could still look futuristic as hell. And the basic design of the USS Enterprise has not really been improved upon in the last four decades.
I once saw a post (I don't remember if it was on TrekWeb or not) that featured pictures of Kiefer Sutherland as Capt. James T. Kirk, Gary Sinese as Dr. McCoy, and Denzel Washington as Spock. While that last one is truly a mind-boggling stretch IMNSHO, the first two are definitely within the realm of possibility. Both are established TV actors (with movie experience), and both could give those roles credibility (the creator of 24 stated in a recent interview that Jack Bauer is just like Capt. Kirk). I'm not saying duplicate the roles exactly...how about changing up the crew a bit, say add some new roles to take the places of Uhura, Chekov, and Sulu? I still think you'd need a Scotsman as the engineer, but that's just me.
With kick-a$$ scripts (something which, sadly, is still lacking in the Star Trek universe), state-of-the-art SFX, some name stars like Sutherland and Sinese, and a decent time slot, Star Trek could fly again as a weekly series...and it wouldn't really need to be "re-imagined."
I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but this might be the best possible scenario for allowing Star Trek to live beyond ENT. Of course, it'll only work if 24 and CSI: New York are cancelled, but hey, we're probably talking years into the future anyway.

Not only is this cool stuff, but the fans should be encouraged. If they are pouring so much $$$ into a TOS-era set, maybe TPTB are planning on using it in future Trek projects? So this implies a future for Trek beyond ENT S4.

GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show!.... You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME! -- William Shatner on Saturday Night Live (1986)
I was beginning to count Enterprise out. I watch, but my heart just isn't into it like it was. BUT when I saw the recreated sets I got that old Star Trek feeling again. It all just flooded back. What an amazing thing to do, creating all those old sets. I always thought they looked dated and cheap, but seeing them now....it just seems like happy times again. Like somehow going back in a time machine. Of course, this time the episode will be going forward into time with the ENT crew meeting one of TOS era. Here's to the possibilities ahead...
Okay, let me say this, I think the sets look fabulous, there's no doubt in my mind that a lot of effort went into creating them... but... given the way this prequel looks, visually (and the acknowledged break with consistancy in so far as how the interior of the ship looks so much more advanced than the interior of the TOS Enterprise), wouldn't it have made more sense to use the bridge designs from Star Trek's II/III?
I'm no expert at Trek history, but as far as I know there wasn't much explanation given for why the bridge changed so drastically between TOS, TMP, and Star Trek II. (I think TMP was after a refit, so there was some explanation there, but Star Trek II didn't seem to justify the changes made there).
I guess what I'm saying is, just as Klingon ridges are generally accepted as just being makeup improvements, surely the appearance of the ships internally can also be accepted as better production and increased budgets.
Regardless, I think these will be some fun episodes, they certainly sound interesting.
I don't know what else to say. Wow.

I will be the first to say WOW to this. These sets look great, especially the replica of the Defiant Bridge. I'd like to get a close-up of that plaque, though.
:-)
Now put some Orion slave girls dancing around the Captain's chair and we are in business.
[haha ... sorry, didn't see your post before I rambled about the plaque too; AND I'm not the first to say WOW ... oh well]
Was anyone like me when seeing those images. Tears rolling down your cheek, a shiver crawling up your spine?
I loved those images, the more and more I look at them I hate to say how easily these sets are reproduced. I need to actually attempt to make these sets....
Anyways, wish I could have gotten a better look at the dedication plaque, I think it says "Constitution Class" instead of "Starship Class" which was on the original episode....oh well........
DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
