Familiar Faces to Lend a Hand in Season Finale "Zero Hour" - First Plot Info (SPOILERS)

Features

By Steve Krutzler / 14:55, 11 March 2004 / Enterprise

The season finale of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE's third season is well under way, with production scheduled to wrap early next week at Paramount studios in Hollywood. Titled "Zero Hour," the episode undoubtedly brings to a head the effort to prevent the Xindi superweapon from being launched against Earth. Yesterday's production report for "Countdown" (story) revealed that Archer may get some of the Xindi species to side with him in this task.

Sources tell TrekWeb that "Zero Hour" will see the return of a familiar face to the Expanse, helping the "Pink Skins" in their mission. Jeffrey Combs' Andorian commander 'Shran', who appeared in this season's "Proving Ground," will rear his blue head in the final episode, which may see the fight to defeat the Xindi taken all the way to the Xindi Council Chamber itself.

"Zero Hour" is slated to air on UPN May 26th, and may close a significant chapter in ENTERPRISE's Xindi storyline. Rick Berman recently hinted (story) that new plot arcs may emerge for season four of the show, all but official at this point.

It's about time they brought in the Andorians for a finale episode! This makes me look forward to this episode even more so now. Some of my favorite episodes are the Andorian ones, i'm glad to see them finally get a really important episode this time with the season finale.

As for the show continuing, i hope so, it's just starting to get good, it would suck for them to cancel it now. I hope the Andorians aren't the only ones who get involved. Bring in the Suliban, bring in Daniels, bring in the Klingons even! Pull out all the stops for this episode.

Just a little speculation on my part -- i haven't really read any detailed spoilers for the rest of the season, so some of this may be already confirmed or denied, but i'll say it anyway. I'm thinking that the Archer will be able to convince Degra & co. to stop the superweapon's launch, however, the Reptillians will still not believe them & attempt to launch their bio-weapon, & steal the superweapon for launch as well, this could lead to the final episode where Enterprise must try to stop the superweapons launch from within the expanse with the help of the other Xindi, while the Andorians lend a hand back near Earth to stop the bio-weapon, along with help from the Vulcans of all people, who finally decide to help out once the Xindi reach Earth & finally, with the help of a Xindi vortex, or maybe Daniels -- or both, Enterprise reaches Earth & helps them defeat the Reptillians & stop the bio-weapon from being released.

After this, Archer, knowing of the future & what Daniels said in "Azati Prime", could have a speach about how the Vulcans, Humans, & Andorians have to much in common not to work together, thus further plating the seeds for the Federation & furthering the Vulcan/Andorian arc as well as all but ending the Xindi arc.

Just my thoughts :)
