DeForest Kelley, who played Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy on the original Star Trek series as well as the six motion pictures that followed, passed away today at 1:12 PM Pacific Time. One of the most well known characters from the Star Trek mythos, DeForest's "Bones" has always been a fan favorite. Mr. Kelly's health had deteriorated in recent months and he had been hospitalized just recently. DeForest was 79.

We are all sad to learn of this news. May the good doctor rest in peace.
